National Smile Month came to Islington, as Hopes and Dreams Montessori Nursery School held a special event to back the UK’s biggest oral health campaign.

Taken place from 14 May to 14 June, National Smile Month aims to promote and raise awareness of good oral health, and Hopes and Dreams Montessori Nursery School got involved in doing just that.

To show their support, all children had the opportunity to take part in activities to learn about good oral health. The toddler classes also had a visit from the team from Happy Kids Dental Clinic, who came to the Nursery School to explain in a very interactive way, how to maintain a good oral hygiene and how to look after our teeth. The children also had the opportunity to have an oral health check-up by Charles Landau Dentistry team.

One of the parents said: “It is reassuring knowing that this kind of events take place and are so enthusiastically organised. The children learn so much from them. Oral hygiene is so important. A healthy mouth is a healthy body.”
